How the contest works/How to enter:
The Kids Quiz has been designed for anyone under the age of 18 with an intention to have questions be primarily challenging for those in grades 4-6. It is also been designed so that kids can only win if a teacher has already registered their school for the contest. Teachers assign them a password that they use to access the quiz. Their teacher chooses the password during the teacher registration process.
Kids coming to the site to take the quiz are asked to locate their state and then their school. Then they type in their name and password only. They are then presented with one question. If they get the answer correct then they are eligible to win a prize that is mailed on a weekly basis. If they answer the question incorrectly they can come back in 24 hours and take another question. They can do this throughout the week until they get the answer correct.
Who can register students:
At the time being the only way a student can participate is if a teacher at a school registers them.
Prize drawings:
Prizes are drawn each week from the batch of folks who successfully answered the question that week. Prizes will be awarded to not only to the winning student but also to the teacher of the school in which he/she attends. The student prize will be mailed to the school and the teacher who registered that school can give the prize to the winning student. PE Central does NOT ask for the home address, email, or phone number of any of the students taking the quiz. All correspondence and mailings are done through the teacher who has registered the school.
Prizes are drawn randomly from the pool of winners from the past week. This will take place on Monday's and prizes will be mailed once a month. Expect prizes to be delivered within 4-6 weeks of the drawing date. The approximate value of the individual prize is about $5.00.
Contest Dates:
The contest will NOT be available year round. It is NOT available during the following months:
- June 1-August 31
- Dec. 1-Jan. 15
Our estimation is that the contest will be available from Sept. 1 - Dec. 1 and then from Jan. 15 - May 31.
Eligibility:
Anyone under 18 years of age and anyone from across the globe can win the weekly prize. No purchase is necessary to enter the quiz.
Employees or PE Central, PE Technologies, and FlagHouse and members of their families are not eligible to for the prize drawings. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
Limit:
There is NO limit to the number of times a person can enter. Each time a person gets a question correct they are entered into the drawing. In fact that will increase their chance of winning a prize.
Teacher responsibilities/Conditions for participation:
The teacher who registers their school is responsible to provide PE Central with an accurate email and school postal address. They also distribute the password they create to any of the students in their school that they wish. In addition, they are expected to distribute the prizes of winning students from their school to the appropriate students.
If prizes are returned due to an incorrect address, PE Central will make no attempt to redeliver the prizes and no alternative winner for that week will be chosen.
Privacy:
For the registration portion of the contest, PE Central will not share any of the addresses or other contact information that is collected from the teacher without express written permission of the student. In no cases will the contact information gathered be sold to a third party.
If a teacher chooses to submit a question and it is accepted for publication on PE Central Kids Quiz then the address will be shared with FlagHouse, the official sponsor of the Kids Quiz. They will use this information only as a way to send the author of the question a $25.00 Certificate of Merchandise that can be used for purchase in their catalog.
Submitting a question:
Teachers can submit a question that will be considered for publication on the PE Central Kids Quiz. If published they will receive a $25.00 Certificate of Merchandise which can be used for purchase in their catalog. If a student under the age of 18 wishes to submit a question they can do so but only through a teacher. If published the Certificate will be awarded and mailed to the teacher so he/she can distribute to the student.
Publishing a question:
Credit will be given to all individuals who get a question published on PE Central if they choose to give us the permission to do so. On the submission form submitters of questions can tell us they do not wish to have their names not published next to their question. If they choose to have credit given we will list their name, school name, and city under their question. In addition, FlagHouse, PE Central's Founding Sponsor, will mail a $25.00 Certificate of Merchandise to anyone having their question published on the PE Central Kids Quiz Site.
